100,000 Lobster Seeds Smuggling Thwarted by the Police, Two Suspects Arrested

inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 100,000 lobster seeds (BBL) suspected of being shipped overseas through Batam City.

In uncovering the case, police also arrested two suspected perpetrators, identified as SS and DS, along with evidence of lobster seeds estimated to be worth billions of Rupiah. 

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nona Pricillia Ohei, stated that the case began with information regarding the alleged shipment of lobster seeds from Jakarta to Batam for smuggling overseas.

"Officers arrested two suspected perpetrators, identified as S.S., who served as the pick-up person, and D.S., who allegedly ordered the pick-up," said Nona Pricillia.

He explained that the arrest took place at around 8:30 a.m. in the Mega Legenda 2 Complex area, Batam Kota District, Batam City. During the operation, police found approximately 100,000 lobster seeds stored in suitcases and packed in cardboard boxes.

On the same occasion, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Silvester Mangombo Marusaha Simamora, explained that the chronology of the arrest began when the police team received information about a shipment of lobster seeds from Jakarta to Batam by air.
