inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metro Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit successfully uncovered 12 cases of dangerous drug trafficking and confiscated 3,898 hard drugs during May 2026.
Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stated that the cases occurred in Tanah Abang (six cases), Menteng (three cases), Sawah Besar (one case), and two other cases in West Jakarta.
Fourteen suspects have been arrested in these cases: AR, M, MY, RA, K, A, SS, HF, EK, GS, AS, MU, SH, and SA.
The suspects are being charged under Article 435, subsidiary to Article 436 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, which carries a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 12 years.
The case began with public reports of drug transactions involving Class G drugs in several areas.
"Based on information from the public, members of the Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit conducted an investigation and successfully uncovered a case of dangerous drug distribution," said Reynold on Monday (6/15/2026).
He then appealed to the public not to purchase or consume drugs without a prescription and the supervision of a healthcare professional.
"The public can immediately report similar case to the police through the 110 Police Call Center, which is available 24/7," he stated.
