The Mobile Brigade Patrol Team of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police successfully thwarted a suspected brawl in the Bojong Menteng area, Rawalumbu, Bekasi City, early Tuesday (6/16/2026). During the patrol, officers apprehended 18 teenagers along with several pieces of evidence suspected of being used in the brawl.

The discovery began while personnel were conducting patrols to prevent brawls, illegal street racing, muggings, and other street crimes on several roads in Bekasi. At around 4:15 a.m., officers discovered a group of teenagers suspected of attempting to engage in a brawl on Lisong Menteng street.

The team then apprehended all the suspected perpetrators and the evidence to be handed over to investigators at the Bekasi Sub-regional Metropolitan Police for further investigation. During the arrest, officers also confiscated one Molotov cocktail, five motorcycles, and 10 cell phones suspected of being connected to the planned brawl.

The Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto stated that the preventive patrols carried out by personnel in the field are a concrete step to prevent potential security disturbances before they cause casualties or public unrest. 

He emphasized that the presence of personnel in vulnerable areas is part of the effort to maintain public safety, especially during the pre-dawn hours.

"The patrols demonstrate the commitment of us to protecting the public from potential crime and street violence. We will continue to be present in the community to prevent brawls, illegal racing, and other disturbances to public order and security, so that people can carry out their activities safely and comfortably," said Henik.
