inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Southwest Papua Regional Police distributed 20,000 liters of clean water to 160 families in Sorong Regency as an important part of supporting the community's basic needs.

Southwest Papua Regional Police Chief, Brigadier General Gatot Haribowo, stated that the clean water distribution was part of police's commitment to the community, particularly in helping meet clean water needs.

"This activity is part of events commemorating the 80th Bhayangkara Day. We hope that the clean water distribution will help the community and further strengthen the relationship between the police and the community," said Gatot on Wednesday (6/24/2026).

He explained that the clean water distribution was carried out by joint personnel from the Mobile Brigade Unit and the Samapta Unit of the Southwest Papua Regional Police. Additionally, officers also provided other aids to the people at each distribution point.

According to Gatot, their presence in the community is not only realized through maintaining security and order, but also through various social activities that provide direct benefits to the community.

"Clean water assistance is part of our commitment to continuously improve service, protection, and dedication to the community," he said.

He hopes this assistance will not only meet the community's clean water needs but also strengthen public trust in the police as an institution that is present and cares about the people.
