inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. The Indonesian National Police (INP) is strengthening its response to forest and land fires in West Kalimantan by deploying 300 Mobile Brigade personnel from East Kalimantan and Bali. This troop deployment is part of the police's swift response to the threat of forest and land fires while ensuring that efforts on the ground are carried out properly.

From East Kalimantan, 190 personnel from the Mobile Brigade Corps were dispatched to carry out Operational Control (BKO) duties within the jurisdiction of the West Kalimantan Regional Police as part of the Operation Aman Nusa II Task Force for Forest and Land Fire Management.

The departure ceremony was held in the parking area of Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan, and led by East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Endar Priantoro.

The 190 personnel are under the command of Senior Superintendent Iwan Hidayat, the Assignment Commander. They will strengthen the ranks of the West Kalimantan Regional Police in addressing the threat of forest and land fires, which require a swift, measured, and integrated response.

At the same time, the Bali Regional Police also deployed a company-level unit (SSK) consisting of 110 personnel from the Bali Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit. The departure was led by Bali Regional Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya in a ceremony held at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Base Operations Base in Tuban, Badung.

The troops, led by Police Assistant Superintendent Nyoman Supartha, then departed by air to Pontianak to join forest and land fire mitigation operations in West Kalimantan.

The deployment of 300 mobile brigade personnel from these two regions is part of INP's strategy to strengthen its response to escalating fires, particularly in areas with potential hotspots and peatlands. The personnel will support prevention, extinguishing, rapid response, and community and environmental protection efforts.

The Head of INP Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the deployment of personnel represents INP’s rapid response in translating national policies into operational measures in the field.

"We continue to strengthen early mitigation efforts through integrated patrols, enhanced early detection, personnel preparedness, utilization of technology, and collaboration with ministries, institutions, local governments, the Indonesian National Military (TNI), and all stakeholders. The goal is to prevent fires before they spread while minimizing the impact on the community," said Johnny Eddizon Isir.

According to Isir, handling forest and land fires goes beyond extinguishing fires when they occur, but also encompasses prevention, law enforcement against arsonists, and post-disaster recovery.
