inp.polri.go.id - Palangka Raya. Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan stated that his team has deployed 500 personnel for Operation Aman Nusa-II to anticipate forest and land fires (karhutla) during the dry season.

"I want to ensure that the personnel involved and the infrastructure to be used are all ready," he said while leading the roll call at the Barigas yard of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters in Palangka Raya on Tuesday (7/21/2026).

He explained that Operation Aman Nusa-II was being held as a form of preparation to deal with the potential for forest and land fires, which are currently occurring in Central Kalimantan.

According to him, the troop roll call is an important effort to ensure that all personnel and their equipment are fully prepared to carry out their duties in the field.

"Although we all know that our existing infrastructure is not yet optimal for the situation on the ground, we will coordinate with other agencies to optimize forest and land fire management," he said.

Iwan stated that the Central Kalimantan Regional Police continue to strengthen synergy with the Indonesian Military (TNI), local governments, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Manggala Agni, and related agencies so that forest and land fire management can be carried out in an integrated and more effective manner.

In addition to personnel and equipment readiness, inter-agency coordination is also being strengthened so that every report of hotspots and fires can be promptly followed up in the field.
