inp.polri.go.id - Southeast Sulawesi. The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police destroyed the illicit drug evidence of 5.4 kg meth from cases uncovered from April to July 2026.

The Head of Public Relations of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Iis Kristian says that the destroyed evidence are the 3.37 kg of meth and 2.07 grams of weed.

He said that the destruction of the evidence is part of the law enforcement process and part of police transparency in drug crimes uncovering.

Of the total destroyed evidence, police have estimated to save around 54,536 people from the dangers of drugs.

"The evidence destroyed today comes from cases uncovered between April and July 2026. All evidence has gone through the legal process, from the court's decision to confiscate the goods, the prosecutor's determination of their status, to re-examination by the police medical team," Kristian said.

He emphasized that this destruction was not only to comply with investigative procedures, but also to prevent the illicit goods from circulating again in the community.

Meanwhile, the Director of Narcotics Investigation at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Amri Yudhy Syamsualam Rama Wispha, revealed that the discovery involved five suspects, including a housewife, with the cases spread across Kendari City, South Konawe Regency, and Kolaka Regency.

Amri also highlighted the current worrying trend in narcotics distribution in Southeast Sulawesi.

"Judging by the amount of evidence seized, Southeast Sulawesi is now becoming a destination market for narcotics trafficking. Therefore, we urgently need public support to provide information so that drug trafficking can be prevented early," he said.

He added that all the evidence destroyed came from five Police Reports (LP) and one marijuana seizure recovered from Customs.
