inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, reported 73 social media accounts suspected of spreading hoax videos to the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Taufik Madjid, stated that the reported content was an artificial intelligence (AI) deepfake video using Yandri Susanto's face and narrating that small shops would be closed following the establishment of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative (KDKMP).

"The statement made by Mr. Yandri, which we report as a complete hoax, is that with the establishment of KDMP, small shops in the village will be closed. That is completely untrue," Taufik said at the INP Criminal Investigation Agency building in Jakarta on Thursday (8/13/2026).

Taufik emphasized that this narrative was never conveyed by Yandri Susanto.

Instead, he stated that with the KDMP, stalls, MSMEs, and village-owned enterprises (BUMD) would be revived alongside cooperatives as a primary instrument of economic growth.

As the hoax content had become disturbing, Yandri Susanto's party reported it to the police on July 29, 2026. They then returned to the police to inquire about the progress of the report.

On the same occasion, the Advisory Board of the Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Mendes PDT), Prof. Juanda, stated that this report related to allegations of false news, misleading information, actions that violate regulations, and defamation.

He hoped that the perpetrators of this hoax spread would be quickly identified through legal proceedings conducted by the INP Criminal Investigation Agency.
