The operation took place at the Southwest Papua Regional Police headquarters and was led by the Director of Narcotics Investigation, accompanied by the Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Directorate and internal oversight. 

Also present were representatives from relevant agencies, including the Sorong City District Attorney's Office, the Sorong Regency Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), as well as three suspects and their advisory team.

"The destruction was carried out by burning the marijuana until there were no traces left. The entire process was officially documented," said the Head of Public Relations of the Southwest Papua Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Rizal Marito, as reported by Taburapos, Monday (4/27/2026).

Rizal emphasized that the disclosure of this case and the destruction of evidence are clear evidence of the police's commitment to eradicating illicit drug trafficking.
