inp.polri.go.id - West Java. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate has uncovered a case of distribution of the Class II narcotic Etomidate. The police thwarted the distribution of 30 Etomidate cartridges and arrested a man identified as MS (29) in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta.
The case was uncovered on Saturday (5/16/2026) at approximately 12:55 p.m. in front of Sedayu Square, Outer Ring Road, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. The arrest was made after police received information from the public regarding alleged narcotics abuse in the Kamal area, West Jakarta.
Led by Unit Head Police Senior Inspector Budi Purwanto, the police team immediately conducted an investigation into the suspected target. While conducting surveillance in the Cengkareng area, officers became suspicious of a man riding a motorcycle.
"The team then followed him until they finally stopped and apprehended the perpetrator in front of Sedayu Square," said police official, Police Senior Inspector Yeni Yuningsih, on Thursday (5/28/2026).
From the initial investigation, she said, police found a red tote bag containing 30 cartridges suspected to be the narcotic etomidate. In addition to the evidence, police also confiscated a cell phone and the motorcycle used by the perpetrator.
"The perpetrator and the evidence are currently being taken to the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate for further investigation," she explained.
