Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has detained Rudi Suparmono, the former Chief Judge of the Surabaya District Court, for his alleged involvement in a bribery case linked to the acquittal of Ronald Tannur in the murder case of his girlfriend.
He arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/1/2025) around 4.30 pm. Wearing a navy-blue collared shirt and a white mask, he was escorted by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes.
Judge Rudi declined to respond to questions from the media, as reported by antaranews.com.
Currently serving as a judge at the Palembang High Court, hei was brought to Jakarta after a flight from Palembang. He is being held as a witness in the ongoing investigation.
AGO spokesperson Harli Siregar has earlier disclosed that in January 2024, during the investigation into the murder case of Ronald’s case, his lawyer, Lisa Rahmat, contacted Zarof Ricar, a former Supreme Court official. Lisa sought an introduction and a meeting with the then-Chief Judge of the Surabaya District Court.
Details of Rudi’s involvement remain under investigation as authorities continue to uncover the case’s full scope.
