inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, is encouraging increased consumption of eggs and chicken meat under the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program to three times per week.

He stated that this measure was taken to strengthen the absorption of national livestock products while helping to maintain stable egg and live chicken prices at the farmer level.

"We recently wrote to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, requesting that egg consumption be increased by one to three times per week," said Andi on Thursday (6/11/2026).

He stated that the Ministry of Agriculture has submitted an official proposal to BGN to increase the frequency of egg consumption under the MBG program.

The Minister stated that the proposal received a positive response from the Head of the BGN, who immediately followed up on the government's recommendation to increase the absorption of domestic livestock commodities.

He stated that the increased consumption of eggs and chicken under the MBG program has begun to impact price improvements at the farmer level.

Andi explained that egg and chicken prices, which had previously been under pressure, are now showing an upward trend due to increased demand from the government program.

He appreciated the Head of BGN's quick response in following up on the proposal, resulting in egg and chicken prices, which had been depressed, gradually improving in the market.
