Inp.polri.go.id - Anambas Islands. The Anambas Islands Sub-regional Police delivered 20 tons (20,000 liters) of fresh water to Sri Tanjung Village in Siantan District, Riau Islands, on Monday (31/8/2026) to relieve communities impacted by an ongoing dry season.
Departing from Tarempa Port via water transport vessels KM Star 58 GT 30 and a local motorboat, the shipment was escorted by Water and Air POlice patrol craft KP XXXI-2005 and a C3 Mini patrol boat. Upon arrival, police collaborated with the local fire office and village administration to distribute the water directly to residents.
"We want the Indonesian National Police’s presence to be truly felt by the community. When residents face water shortages, we endeavor to help within our capacity," said Anambas Islands Police Deputy Chief Senior Inspector Shallahuddin, on behalf of Anambas Islands Police Chief Adjunct Superintendent I Gusti Ngurah Agung Budianaloka.
He urged local residents to use water wisely throughout the dry season while confirming that supply assistance will continue as needed to maintain public welfare across the islands.
