inp.polri.go.id - Banten. The Banten Regional Police have intensified regional patrols to anticipate potential crimes exploiting public unrest related to rumors of fake ghost terror.
Banten Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Hengki, urged the public to remain calm and not be easily provoked by unverified information or videos.
"We do not want certain parties to exploit public unrest to commit crimes such as theft, robbery, or other disturbances to public order and security. Therefore, we ask the public to be more vigilant in their neighborhoods," said Hengki.
He confirmed that the public order and security situation in the Banten Regional Police jurisdiction is currently completely safe and under control. The increased patrols are solely to ensure and provide an optimal sense of security to residents.
"We urge the entire community to maintain unity, avoid panic, and work together to create a safe and conducive public order and security situation," he said on Tuesday (5/26/2026).
Furthermore, Hengki urged the public to be more discerning in accepting information and not to share content whose truth has not been verified.
