inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police are hunting down a network of stolen motorcycle merchants. The case came to light after police officers arrested a suspect attempting to sell the stolen vehicle in Lebak, Banten.

"The suspect is currently being held at the Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police for further investigation. Police are also still pursuing the network of merchants and the suspect's possible involvement in several other motorcycle theft cases in Tangerang and the surrounding area," explained Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Raden Muhammad Jauhari, Tuesday (6/16/2026).

Jauhari said the disclosure stemmed from the successful arrest of a repeat offender. The suspect is known to have served four prison sentences for similar crimes.

He emphasized that the police will continue to take firm action against perpetrators of street crimes, particularly motorcycle thefts that disturb the public.

"The public is also urged to be more careful by using additional security locks when parking their vehicles and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police," he said.
