np.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Not all public service happens on street patrols. For Senior Brigadier Pande Made Ari Sudewa, serving his country also means preserving its rich culture.

The 36-year-old officer from Ubud, Gianyar, recently crafted a stunning 2.3-meter Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue for the Bazar Kreasi Bhayangkari Nusantara at the Jakarta International Convention Center.

Balancing his full-time duties at the Bali Regional Police Drug Enforcement Directorate, Brigadier Pande spent two months sculpting the piece with three friends. The journey wasn't easy, the transport truck blew a tire, damaging the statue's head and hands. Undeterred, he carefully repaired the sculpture on-site.

His dedication paid off. Standing at the Bali exhibition booth, the statue quickly became a fan favorite, drawing crowds for photos.

"As a police officer, I want to show we aren't just here to maintain security, but also to inspire and protect our cultural heritage," Brigadier Pande shared.

Through his artistic touch, he proves that police work and cultural passion can go hand in hand.
