inp.polri.go.id - Depok. The Directorate of Animal Police of the Bhayangkara Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Security Maintenance Agency successfully held the “Sarasehan Menuju Indonesia Canine” and “Satwancara Fest 2025” at the Directorate of Animal Police Command Headquarters, Kelapadua, Depok, West Java.

This activity was held in the celebration of  the 79th Bhayangkara Anniversary and the 66th Animal Police Anniversary.

The symposium was officially opened by the Head of the Bhayangkara Corps of INP Security Maintenance Agency Inspector General Hasudungan Ritonga, who in his speech expressed his appreciation to all parties who have contributed to the development and empowerment of the national K9 unit.

On that occasion, he emphasized the importance of synergy between institutions in forming a national K9 ecosystem that is professional, resilient, adaptive, and able to answer security and humanitarian challenges in the modern era.

As part of the opening ceremony, a Joint Commitment was signed between the Directorate of Animal Police and the Animal Search and Rescue Foundation (SAR Dog Indonesia). This signing is a concrete manifestation of cross-sector cooperation in order to strengthen the capacity and capability of the K9 unit, especially in search and rescue missions for disaster victims, handling narcotics, and national security in general.

The series of events continued with a panel discussion with the theme "One Commitment, One Goal: National K9 Synergy in Maintaining National Security and Sovereignty".

As a closing, a demonstration of the skills of K9 units from various agencies was held. In this session, participants and invitees were presented with the extraordinary abilities of their bloodhounds in various operational simulations such as searching for narcotics, detecting explosives, tracking victims, and securing areas.

With the implementation of this activity, INP hopes to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and build an inclusive, professional, and sustainable national K9 ecosystem. This workshop is also an important momentum in strengthening the commitment of all stakeholders in maintaining the security, sovereignty, and safety of the nation through the utilization of the potential of tracker dogs in a maximum, structured, and strategic manner.
