Inp.polri.go.id - Cianjur. The Cianjur Sub-regional Police closed the main route toward the Puncak tourist area in West Java on Wednesday evening (31/12/2025), to anticipate heavy traffic during New Year’s Eve celebrations. 

The closure applied from the Gentur Traffic Light–Bypass starting at 6 pm. until after midnight, redirecting vehicles bound for Bogor and Jakarta to alternative routes.

“The road closure is part of traffic engineering measures to manage congestion during the car free night policy in Puncak,” said Cianjur Traffic Police Chief Assistant Senior Inspector Hardian Andrianto, as quoted by antaranews.com

The policy was implemented as Puncak enforced a situational car free night, prompting officers to turn vehicles back toward Cianjur. Motorists from Bandung heading to Bogor or Jakarta were advised to use the Jonggol or Sukabumi routes.

Police urged drivers to follow on-site instructions, depart earlier if planning to visit Puncak, and avoid excessive celebrations, fireworks, convoys, or unsafe driving amid fog and rain-prone conditions.
