The report was filed by several victims after visiting the travel agency's office in the Kuningan area of ​​South Jakarta.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, explained that the official report was received by the police on May 28, 2026.

"Yes, we received a report regarding alleged Umrah travel fraud allegedly involving Hanania Travel on May 28, 2026," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Saturday (5/30/2026).

According to information received by the police, the complainant in the case, identified as NN, claimed to have suffered losses after paying the Umrah travel expenses to the accused, identified as ASF, but the promised departure never materialized as scheduled.

"The accused was reported for alleged criminal offenses under Articles 492, 486, and/or Article 607 of the Indonesian Criminal Code," he said.

Prior to filing the report, the victim and the travel agency owner had reportedly attempted mediation to reach a resolution. However, the process failed to yield an agreement, prompting the victims to pursue legal action by reporting the case to the police.

The police are currently following up on the report for further investigation in accordance with applicable regulations.
