Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Defense and the Indonesian Military (TNI) launched a fuel efficiency program in Jakarta on Monday (23/3/2026) to bolster national energy resilience against volatile global geopolitics.
"These measures involve more effective resource management and priority-based allocation, particularly for defense hardware operations and official mobility," said Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, the Head of the Ministry of Defense’s Information Bureau, as cited by antaranews.com.
The initiative introduces a four-day work week for specific administrative functions and streamlines the deployment of military assets. Officials clarified that these adjustments are proactive steps aligned with President Prabowo Subianto's national efficiency directives rather than a response to an immediate energy crisis.
By restricting official vehicle use and optimizing operational schedules, the ministry aims to discipline strategic resource consumption. This policy is expected to maintain essential defense capabilities and remain uncompromised while contributing to broader fiscal responsibility and long-term national security stability.
