Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Denpasar Sub-regional Police initiated an investigation following the discovery of three deceased Australians, identified as SDJ (57) and his two children, ADS (10) and LKS (3), at a bungalow in Central Legian, Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali, on Sunday.
Denpasar Police Chief Senior Superintendent Leonardo David Simatupang confirmed on Monday (14/9/2026) that forensic teams conducted crime scene processing, witness interviews, and CCTV review to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Investigators are conducting a thorough site examination, analyzing CCTV footage, and interviewing witnesses, including the victim's wife, to clarify the cause of death," he said.
Witnesses and local community leaders forced entry into the room after the victim's spouse in Jakarta was unable to establish contact.
Officers found victim SDJ hanged near a window frame, while the two children lay deceased nearby. Preliminary forensic findings suggest the children died from physical violence prior to the father's suicide.
Authorities coordinated with the Australian Consulate while transferring the bodies to Prof. Ngoerah Hospital for autopsy.
