The hoax, which circulated widely on Facebook, claimed that the Constitutional Court (MK) had granted a lawsuit invalidating VP Gibran's educational qualifications, prompting President Prabowo to replace him with Minister Agus. Fact-checking procedures conducted via reverse image searches and cross-examinations with official records by tirto.id verified that no credible news outlets reported such an appointment.

While the Constitutional Court is currently handling Case Number 01/PHPU.PRES-XXIV/2026 regarding Vice Presidential eligibility requirements, the petition remains under review and does not constitute a final ruling. Official government records on the Vice Presidential portal confirm that Gibran Rakabuming Raka remains the serving Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024–2029 term.
