inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Drugs Criminal Directorate has uncovered an attempted smuggling of ketamine and MDMA disguised as sachets of beverages. Officers arrested Wu Yanguan (43) of Chinese citizenship in Denpasar, Bali, for receiving a package of drugs sent from Malaysia.
"We have successfully uncovered a narcotics crime involving suspected MDMA and ketamine," explained Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Drugs Criminal Investigation, on Thursday (4/9/2026).
He explained that the case began on Wednesday (4/8/2026), when the Sub-Directorate II team from the authority received information from Soekarno-Hatta Customs and Excise that ketamine and MDMA were being shipped to Denpasar, Bali.
Following this information, the team conducted a joint operation with Soekarno-Hatta Customs and Excise via a delivery service to deliver the package received by Wu Yanguan.
"The recipient of the package is suspected of containing ketamine and MDMA (the package came from Malaysia with tracking number 3731843xxxx)," he said.
The illicit goods were camouflaged in 12 beverage sachets labeled "TANG," each containing 228.6 grams of powder. He detailed that 10 sachets contained 175 grams of MDMA and two sachets contained 53.6 grams of ketamine.
"The team is still conducting interrogations and developing the network," said Brigadier General Eko.
