inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit has discovered a drug syndicate operation in Langgar Alley, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan.
The syndicate in this drug village is notorious for its slick operation, consistently evading authorities seeking to uncover the distribution of illicit goods.
The drug trafficking there is organized and structured. Investigators also discovered watchers, who use walkie-talkies (HTs) to conduct their business.
"Along the road before reaching Block F, there are 21 (twenty-one) watchers holding walkie-talkies. It is also said that they guide those who want to buy drugs at the Langgar Alley, Block F," explained the Director of Drugs Criminal Investigation of INP, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, in a statement on Monday (5/18/2026).
According to him, these watchers are spread throughout the village's streets. At night, the place is even more heavily guarded to avoid detection by security forces.
Eko explained that the snipers are spread out along all the roads in the village. They are even more heavily guarded at night to avoid detection by security forces.
He said these watchers stationed at the entrance to the village also used a special code for drug buyers as people in the Langgar Alley were more sensitive to strangers.
Once inside the alley, watchers would only allow one person at a time to meet the drug dealer, where a small clip of methamphetamine was priced at IDR 150,000.
"The watcher in front of the AlfaMart, would give an implicit code using his hand, and then the other watcher would relay information via walkie-talkie," he explained.
