Inp.polri.go.id - Maumere. The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police delivered 146 food packages via police vessel KP. Pulau Sukur 3007 to earthquake-affected residents on Sukun Island, Sikka Regency, on Monday (31/8/2026).

Departing from Wuring Pier in Maumere, officers collaborated with local fishermen, using motorboats and motorized tricycles to relay supplies across the island's coastal terrain before symbolically handing the aid to Village Head Ismail Irianto.

"The Indonesian National Police continue working to ensure aid reaches those in need, including island communities facing unique access challenges. Our presence in the field represents Polri's care and service," said East Nusa Tenggara Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Henry Novika Chandra.

Police officers led by First Inspector Agung Wiriawan also held trauma healing sessions and distributed nutritional snacks for local children to support post-disaster psychological recovery.
