inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo urged all ranks to anticipate potential disasters that could occur during the 2026 Eid homecoming season.
This was conveyed by him while leading the Operation Ketupat 2026 Troop Roll Call at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (3/12/2026).
In his remarks, General Sigit reminded that the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has predicted that weather conditions during the homecoming season will range from cloudy to heavy rain.
Therefore, he asked all personnel on duty to be fully prepared for all potential natural disasters that may occur.
"Extra vigilance is needed for potential hydrometeorological disasters, especially in southern Indonesia, such as Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara," he said.
Furthermore, Sigit stated that the peak of the homecoming flow is predicted to occur in two waves: March 14-15 and March 18-19. Meanwhile, the peak of the return flow is predicted to occur on March 24-25 and March 28-29.
He said the government has also prepared a number of traffic regulations for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr period, including restrictions on goods transport, the implementation of one-way traffic, contraflow traffic, and odd-even traffic policies, as well as regulating sea crossings and converting vehicle weighing stations into rest areas.
"Therefore, I hope all personnel will adhere to and disseminate information on the implementation of this Joint Decree (SKB), so that it can be understood and implemented properly," he explained.
