Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral Facebook video claiming that prominent Indonesian businessman Jusuf Hamka is promoting an online gambling website is a hoax, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs confirmed on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

A reverse image search traced the original footage to a Kompas TV interview regarding Hamka's political discussions for the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, proving the clip was highly manipulated.

"The audio circulating on Facebook was 98.1 percent generated using artificial intelligence," reported AI detection platform Hive Moderation, confirming the voice in the video was entirely synthetic and fabricated to deceive the public. 

Authorities urge social media users to remain vigilant against increasingly sophisticated digital scams.
