inp.polri.go.id - East Java. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited the grave of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno (Bung Karno), in Blitar City, East Java, on Saturday (June 20, 2026).
This visit is part of activities in commemorating 80th Bhayangkara Day as he previously had visited the grave of Gus Dur.
"This morning, we visited the grave of the late President Gus Dur. Now we are visiting the grave of the late President Soekarno. After this, we will continue to the grave of President Soeharto and then conclude at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery," said Sigit.
Sigit explained that this series of pilgrimages is to continue remembering the values fought for by Indonesian forefathers. According to him, this is also important for the future progress of INP as an institution.
"This visit is part of our tradition in contemplating and exploring the values of our forefathers, which is of course very important, especially for us. We have a mandate to continue to uphold what our former presidents and former national leaders have inherited for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and also for us as institution," said Sigit.
Therefore, Sigit emphasized that inherited values must be preserved and maintained. As successors, Sigit assured that Bhayangkara Corps will carry on the fighting spirit of the nation's previous leaders.
"Similarly, this is a strength, something positive that we must continue to develop as the driving for, so that we can continue to carry out our national duty, to carry out all duties and responsibilities to the best of our ability," said INP Chief.
