Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government will restrict subsidized fuel purchases to a maximum of 50 liters per day for private four-wheeled vehicles starting in April to ensure more targeted distribution amid global geopolitical shifts.

"We are implementing a 50-liter daily limit per vehicle through the MyPertamina barcode system to maintain fair and sustainable fuel consumption," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources  Bahlil Lahadalia clarified that the 50-liter cap for private cars is sufficient to fill most standard tanks to capacity. While private vehicles and emergency services like ambulances face this limit, the regulation provides higher allowances for essential transport, permitting up to 80 liters for public transit and 200 liters for large trucks with six or more wheels.

This energy efficiency policy, formalized under BPH Migas Decree No. 024/2026, aims to curb the overconsumption of Pertalite and Biosolar while protecting the state budget from global energy price volatility.
