In an effort to create a conducive market environment through food prices in line with the highest retail price (HET) set by the government, the Bali Province Food Clean Sweep Task Force (Satgas Saber) conducted surprise inspections at traditional markets, modern retailers, and distributors across Bali.
The joint team from the Bali Province Food Task Force inspected several shops and vendors at Kreneng Market, as well as the modern retailer Bintang Denpasar Supermarket, and the distributor Sari Limo.
TheFood Task Force, comprising members from the Bali Regional Police's Directorate of Special Crimes, the Bali Provincial Department of Agriculture and Food Security, the Bali Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, and the Bali Regional Logistics Agency , departed at 8:00 a.m. to the market inspection location.
During the unannounced inspection, the task force carefully examined and monitored the price developments of food items sold to the public. Afterward, the selling prices of 14 basic food items will be adjusted to comply with the HET.
The team also inspected distribution channels to determine and ensure the availability of stock in warehouses for distribution to the Balinese public.
In addition to implementing food price adjustments, the food task force also issued appeals and reminded traders and businesses to comply with regulations and sell basic food items at government-set prices.
