inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Health stated that in the 11th week of 2026, there were 177 suspected cases and 121 cases of measles, representing a decrease of approximately 95 percent from the first week of 2,740 suspected cases and 2,268 cases.
"After the third week, the weekly trend gradually goes down until the 11th week, when the number of suspected cases decreased to 177 and measles cases to 121, indicating a decrease of approximately 94-95 percent from the peak in the first week," said Aji Muhawarman, Head of the Ministry of Health's Communication and Public Information Bureau, Thursday (3/26/2026).
Previously, the Ministry of Health stated that as of the ninth week of 2026, there were 8,716 measles cases with 10,826 suspected cases, and the government was intensifying immunization in various regions as a follow-up preventive measure.
Acting Director General of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Andi Saguni, explained that the decline in the number of suspected cases and cases in the ninth week was due to massive immunization and education on clean and healthy lifestyles.
He also mentioned that there were 45 extraordinary measles outbreaks (KLB) in 29 districts/cities across 11 provinces: North Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and Central Sulawesi.
"The weekly trend of measles cases and laboratory confirmation in the 11 provinces affected by the 2026 KLB mostly showed a decrease in cases, except for West Nusa Tenggara Province (Bima Regency and Bima City), which still showed high cases," said Andi.
