inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has assigned 5,000 professional chefs to various Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) across the country to assist, train, and teach about hygiene and professional cooking techniques to better serve Free Nutritious Meals (MBG).
"We will deploy these highly professional chefs to various regions in Indonesia, starting Monday (10/13)," said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana, Friday (10/10/2025). The
BGN Head also appreciated the good intentions of the chefs who participated in making the national priority program to improve the nutritional value of the nation's children a success.
The professional chefs, who are members of the Indonesian Chef Association (ICA), appreciated BGN for establishing 10,765 operational SPPGs throughout Indonesia (data as of October 7, 2025).
On the other hand, they expressed concern over several food safety incidents in the implementation of the MBG program.
"ICA empathizes with and is committed to providing full support for the sustainability of the Noble MBG Program for Indonesian children," said ICA Chairman Susanto.
According to the ICA Chairman, the suggestions from various parties to stop the MBG program are not a solution. ICA is even ready to support the continuation of this national priority program.
"We are fully committed to supporting the continuity and smooth running of the MBG program," he said.
