Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono confirmed that Indonesia will deploy 8,000 military soldiers to the U.S.-led Board of Peace’s International Stabilization Force (ISF) to prioritize civilian safety and humanitarian aid. 

The minister explained it during a bilateral meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin on Monday, held on the sidelines of the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva.

"The primary focus of the Indonesian contingent within the ISF is to provide protection to civilians and essential humanitarian support," Minister Sugiono said in a statement published by the foreign ministry on Tuesday (24/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The deployment serves as Indonesia's strategic contribution to the newly formed Board of Peace, where Indonesia now holds the position of Deputy Commander. By stationing a massive peacekeeping force, Indonesia  aims to ensure a stable environment for a credible political transition toward a Two-State Solution. 

According to the foreign ministry’s statement, Minister Shahin appreciated Indonesia’s consistent political and physical support, noting that the deployment of one of the largest troop contributions is a vital step toward securing a lasting ceasefire in the region.
