Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the Israeli military for placing a "Rising Lion" propaganda banner atop the ruins of the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza. 

In a statement released Wednesday (22/4/2026), the government described the act as a highly provocative gesture that violates the sanctity of humanitarian facilities, as cited by antaranews.com.

"The act is an insult to humanitarian facilities built from the solidarity of the Indonesian people to help Palestinians," the Ministry said via social media, emphasizing that medical facilities must be protected under international humanitarian law.

The hospital, a vital civilian health hub, has been largely non-functional following repeated military strikes. The ministry urged Israel to cease violations against civilian infrastructure and demanded accountability for attacks on healthcare facilities.

This incident came after the July 2025 death of the hospital’s director, Dr. Marwan Al-Sultan, who was killed in a strike on his residence.
