Inp.polri.go.id - Nunukan. A joint Indonesian task force intercepted an attempt to smuggle 13 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine near the Malaysia border on Friday (10/10/2025).
The drugs were seized along the Transkaltimtra Road in Mansalong Village, Lumbis District, North Kalimantan.
“This success reflects strong synergy among the military, police, and intelligence units. The Mulawarman military command will continue tightening surveillance on illegal border routes and intensifying patrols during high-risk hours,” said Major General Rudy Rachmat Nugraha, the Commander of the Mulawarman Military Command, in Balikpapan, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The operation began after soldiers from the Border Security Task Force grew suspicious of a black Toyota Avanza near a military post. After pursuit and inspection, officers found 13 packets of meth disguised as rat poison inside a backpack. One suspect was arrested, while another fled.
The drugs and the suspect were handed over to Nunukan Police for further investigation.
