Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru has facilitated the repatriation of 3,585 Indonesian migrant workers deported from Malaysia between January and July 2025.

On Tuesday (29/7/2025), 129 more migrant workers, consisting of 93 men, 35 women, and one girl, were returned via Batam Center Ferry Terminal.

“With this latest group, we have supported the repatriation of 3,585 individuals, including 1,129 through Program M,” said the Consulate General’s Social and Cultural Affairs Officer, Erry Kenanga, as quoted by antaranews.co.

Program M is a joint effort between Malaysian Immigration and Indonesian missions in Peninsular Malaysia to repatriate 7,200 undocumented Indonesians over two years. Initiated in November 2024, it will run through 2026.

Erry emphasized the importance of legal migration routes to avoid future problems, adding, “The high number of deportations shows many Indonesians reside in Malaysia without proper documentation.”
