Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to increase their annual trade volume to $10 billion, marking a significant expansion in economic cooperation.
The commitment was made during a bilateral meeting between Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, and UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai on Wednesday (12/2/2025).
“Our economic ties can be strengthened further through the Indonesia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-UAE CEPA),” Minister Airlangga said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Trade between the two nations reached $5 billion in 2024, up from $3 billion in 2020. The two ministers agreed that this new target will be achieved through enhanced investment, tourism, and the full implementation of CEPA.
Discussions also covered digital economy collaboration, aviation infrastructure, and increasing flights to boost tourism. UAE invited Indonesia to join Investopia 2025, a global investment forum on 26 and 27 February 2025.
