inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government, through the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), is strengthening bilateral cooperation with Yemen in the field of halal product assurance.
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan stated that the collaboration focuses on the halal certification registration mechanism for Yemeni products entering the Indonesian market.
"This meeting ensures that the strengthening of Indonesia-Yemen cooperation will be more productive with the support of an effective and accountable halal product registration and certification process," said the BPJPH Head on Monday (5/4/2026).
He emphasized that this step aligns with the mandate of Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee and its derivative regulations, which require all products distributed in Indonesia to have halal certification.
Furthermore, this collaboration is also seen as strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and opening opportunities for broader collaboration in the future.
"This collaboration also ensures a stronger relationship between Indonesia and Yemen, not only for current trade needs but also opening opportunities for broader collaboration in the future," explained the BPJPH Head.
As a follow-up, the halal certification registration process for Yemeni products is scheduled to begin next week. This step is expected to strengthen the national halal ecosystem while promoting harmonization of global halal standards and consumer protection in Indonesia.
