Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have disclosed that an Indonesian arrested during the international online gambling raid at Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower, Jakarta, has a history of working in Cambodia.
Authorities believe the person returned to Indonesia to continue similar operations within the newly uncovered network.
"The person in question is a former worker or previously worked in Cambodia who came to Jakarta and resumed working in the same field here," said Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, the Director of General Crimes, on Sunday (10/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
Preliminary investigations suggest the Indonesian served as a customer service representative for the gambling syndicate.
In addition to the Indonesian suspect, police are further detailing the roles of 320 foreigners involved in the network. Their duties ranged from telemarketing and administration to managing the financial accounts used to collect gambling deposits.
Chief Wira emphasized that the investigation will continue to expand to identify the masterminds behind the operation, ensuring that the crackdown does not stop at operational staff.
