Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in combating transnational narcotics networks during a high-level meeting in Malaysia from 2 to 4 September 2026.
Under the agreement, drug cases involving Malaysian citizens in Indonesia will be handled through direct Police-to-Police (P-to-P) channels to ensure rapid operational intelligence sharing alongside formal diplomatic notification.
"Police-to-Police channels provide a faster, more effective mechanism for initial intelligence exchange and field enforcement," said INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Narcotics Crime Director Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso on Monday (7/9/2026).
Both law enforcement agencies also addressed fugitive deportations via passport revocations and prioritized joint intelligence operations targeting syndicate masterminds along shared border regions, including the Malacca Strait and Kalimantan-Sabah/Sarawak sectors
