Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and three cabinet ministers inaugurated the national one-way traffic scheme for the 2026 Eid return flow at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate in Semarang on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
"This management strategy is a vital effort to maintain traveler safety and comfort by decompressing high-traffic volumes," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno during the flag-off ceremony, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The one-way system spans from kilometer 414 at Kalikangkung toll gate, Semarang, to kilometer 70 at the Cikampek Utama toll gate, aligning with the predicted peak of the return flow on Tuesday.
Chief Sigit noted that while localized one-way segments were previously tested, this national implementation is necessary to handle the massive surge of vehicles heading toward the capital.
Beyond kilometer 70, additional traffic engineering will be deployed to prevent bottlenecks at the Jakarta entry points. Authorities urged all motorists to remain vigilant and prioritize road safety as they conclude their holiday travels.
