Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that the peak of the 2026 Eid Al-Fitri homecoming season remains under control following a direct inspection of Tugu Station in Yogyakarta on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
"Our data shows that arrivals have climbed to approximately 55,000 passengers today. Overall, the situation at Yogyakarta Station is relatively safe with no significant complaints from travelers," said General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the INP Chief.
He highlighted a 40 percent decrease in traffic accidents compared to last year's holiday season. To maintain this trend, the INP have implemented a series of "prime service" policies, including tactical traffic engineering to manage the surge across rail, sea, and road transport.
Chief Sigit urged motorists to utilize designated rest areas and rotate drivers to prevent fatigue-related incidents. As the station prepares for the return flow predicted for 28 and 29 March 2026, the police continue to distribute holiday packages to travelers as part of their community-focused security approach.
