inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo outlined the government's role in maintaining peace and the economy amidst global conflict.

This was conveyed by the INP Chief in his remarks at a Ramadan gathering with the West Java Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Trade Union Association (KSPSI) at PT NOK on Friday afternoon (3/6/2026).

He stated that the current global situation is uncertain due to the escalation between Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Sigit stated that the Indonesian government, as a non-aligned country, will not stay silent about the situation. He stated that various diplomatic efforts are being undertaken to foster peace.

"Furthermore, Indonesia wants to play an active role in contributing to peace between Palestine and Israel by proposing a two-state solution," the INP Chief added.

Regarding the economy, Sigit stated that the government is also continuing negotiations to reduce the tariffs imposed by the United States on Indonesia. He stated that through government efforts, the tariff rate could be reduced from 32 percent to 19 percent.

Moreover, INP Chief stated that the government would also encourage downstreaming in various industries to boost the economy, ranging from the automotive industry to electric batteries and oil lifting.

On the other hand, Sigit emphasized that the government, through the Asta Cita program, continues to strive to create food and energy security so that Indonesia can be self-sufficient and not dependent on other countries.

"These various Asta Cita programs are also being promoted continuously, so that Indonesia can remain secure under any circumstances, especially in the face of competition and various pressures," he explained.

Therefore, he urged labor groups to unite to maintain Indonesia's growing investment climate. Furthermore, Sigit urged that all existing opportunities and natural resources be managed optimally for the benefit of the community.
