Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency detained two high-ranking executives of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) on Tuesday (10/2/2026) following a massive fraud and money laundering investigation.
Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, the Director of the Special Economic Crimes, announced that CEO Taufiq Aljufri and Commissioner Ade Rizal Lesmana were detained for 20 days after a marathon interrogation revealed their roles in a "fictitious project" scheme that caused losses totaling Rp 2.4 trillion ($153 million).
"The suspects misappropriated data from active borrowers to create fake projects on their digital platform, misleading lenders into investing funds that ultimately could not be withdrawn," Chief Ade Safri explained, as quoted by antaranews.com
The investigation found that between 2018 and 2025, PT DSI lured investors with promised returns of up to 18% before collapsing in June 2025. While both suspects are in custody, a third suspect, identified as MY, remains at large due to illness, with a summons issued for Friday.
The trio faces multiple charges, including embezzlement, financial reporting fraud, and electronic fraud under Indonesia’s strict anti-money laundering laws.
