Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has officially launched the Police Social Science Laboratory located within the Police Academy (Akpol) complex in Semarang, Central Java, which is designed as a research hub to develop data-driven policing models and evidence-based policies.
"The digital revolution and shifting global geopolitics require the INP to develop approaches that are not just theoretical, but tested against social realities on the ground," said INP Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo on Monday (30/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The laboratory serves as an integrative space bridging the gap between academic theory and field practice. By utilizing data analysis, scientific modeling, and factual simulations, the center aims to produce "Precision Policing" strategies that are adaptive and predictive.
Beyond research, the facility will function as a learning center to cultivate personnel who are scientifically oriented, transparent, and accountable in their service to the public. This strategic move is part of the INP;s broader commitment to modernizing the profession through the advancement of police science and professional excellence.
