Inp.polri.go.id - Dogiyai. Central Papua Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Jermias Rontini announced that Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel under operational control assistance (BKO) from the Indoensian National Police (INP) Headquarters will continue to reinforce security in Dogiyai Regency until July 2026.
“The BKO deployment has been extended until July. We will evaluate whether to maintain it depending on the security situation. Conditions are gradually improving,” he said on Friday (12/6/2026).
The reinforcement followed unrest triggered by the 31 March 2026 killing of a Dogiyai police officer, which led to clashes and road blockades. In April, the INP headquarters dispatched 100 Brimob officers to stabilize the area.
Security recovery efforts include humanist policing, routine patrols, and strengthened communication with communities.
At the same time, disciplinary measures were taken against 12 Dogiyai police officers involved in misconduct during the incident. Four were dishonorably discharged for assault and provocation, while eight others, including the Kamuu Police Chief, received demotions for negligence and property damage.
“These steps show the INP’s commitment to professionalism and rebuilding public trust,” Chief Rontini said.
