Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy says that President Joko Widodo asked that the victims of Ruang Mount Eruption are not left ignored.

“The instruction from the President is to ensure that the evacuation handling must be conducted thoroughly. He stressed that no victims should be left behind,” said Muhadjir on Friday (5/3/2024).

Jokowi also asked for a quick response in resolving issues related to the eruption disaster.

According to Muhadjir, Jokowi agrees for the entire population in Ruang Island to be relocated. Reportedly, there are 301 families living on Ruang Island.

“They will be relocated to South Bolaang Mongondow Regency and the land will be prepared by the Governor. Just recently, the President has also instructed Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister and Environmental and Forestry Minister to also prepare a farm land for them,” adds Muhadjir.

Regarding the establishment of permanent housing in South Bolaang Mongondow, Jokowi also instructed the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing to immediately build houses according to the disaster safety standard. The establishment will be funded from ready-to-use funds from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
