inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) stated that it is evacuating the train and handling the victims of the train accident at East Bekasi Station. The accident occurred on Monday (4/27/2026) at 8:52 PM.
A release from PT KAI stated that an electric train with flight number PLB 5568A collided with the Argo Bromo Anggrek train.
"Currently, PT KAI, along with the police, is evacuating the train and assisting with the victims at the scene. We are making every effort to ensure that train operations can return to normal as soon as possible," said Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager of KAI Operational Area 1 Jakarta.
In addition to the police, rescue personnel, internal security personnel, and paramedics were already on the scene and were attempting to extricate passengers at around 9:50 PM.
KAI confirmed that officers on the ground have moved quickly to handle and secure the location, and are coordinating with relevant parties to expedite the evacuation and recovery process.
As a safety measure, overhead power lines (LAA) on the Cibitung-East Bekasi line and the East Bekasi yard were temporarily disabled. The cause of the incident and the number of train trips are still under investigation.
According to a report by Transmedia journalist Erik Kustara on CNNIndonesia TV, a women-only carriage on the rearmost KRL train was crushed by the locomotive of the long-distance train Argo Bromo Anggrek at the station.
