Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and its sympathizers are deliberately trying to create unrest among residents in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Highlands, said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Commander of the Damai Cartenz Task Force.

“Based on our investigation, the recent attacks on civilians, including the stabbing on Saturday night, were part of KKB’s efforts to instill fear among Yahukimo residents,” he said in Jayapura on Monday (20/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Security forces have tightened patrols and law enforcement measures across the region to maintain stability and protect civilians. 

“We will not tolerate continued armed violence against the public,” he asserted.

The task force has deployed investigative teams to pursue the attackers responsible for the killings of two civilians in separate incidents last week. Authorities urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious activities as part of efforts to restore peace in Papua.
