Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has dismissed claims by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) regarding the theft of two firearms from police officers in Puncak Jaya, Papua as false information, emphasizing that  its narrative is propaganda designed to incite unrest and fear within the community.

“The claim of firearm theft by the KKB is baseless propaganda aimed at influencing public opinion and spreading fear,” said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Cartenz Operations, firmly denied the allegation on Friday (24/1/2025).,

He maintained that the INP and the Indonesian Military (TNI)  remain focused on law enforcement operations in Papua to protect citizens and ensure stability.

“We will not be distracted by these fabricated narratives. Any illegal activities by the KKB will be dealt with according to the law,” Chief Faizal added.

He urged the public to rely on official channels for verified information and not to be swayed by unverified claims.

“Together, we must counter divisive propaganda and support efforts to maintain peace in Papua,” said Chief Faizal.

Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, the Damai Cartenz Task Force Head of Public Relations, urged the public not to be swayed by unverified information.

“We appeal to the Papuan community to remain calm and not be provoked by baseless claims. Official information will always come through verified government or Polri channels,” he said.
